“Aquarius” is the upcoming debut studio album by American singer-songwriter, model and actress Tinashe. It’s scheduled to be released on digital retailers on October 7, 2014 via RCA Records.
It comes preceded by the lead single “2 On” featuring ScHoolboy Q, released in late-January. The singer confirmed the name of the album during the 2014 BET Awards pre-show. The name of the album is also Tinashe’s zodiac sign. She says has deeper meaning but she’ll leave that to be interpreted with the music.

Today Tinashe released the official album cover art which you can view in HQ in our gallery!

After delivering one of the hottest songs of the summer with “2 On,” featuring ScHoolboy Q, Tinashe is ready to show the world every facet of who she is with her debut album, Aquarius.

“Aquarius is my official album introduction to the world and represents a new season of music and art,” Tinashe told BET.com. “I cannot wait to finally share with the world what I have been working so hard on for the past few years. This is just the beginning.”

So far, the R&B newbie has spent four weeks (and counting) on top of Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay charts with her debut single. Her sugary yet powerful voice and precise moves are quickly making her one of the genre’s princesses, keeping it sexy and smooth in the footsteps of Aaliyah, Janet Jackson and Ciara.

Later this month, she plans to release her second single, “Pretend,” featuring her labelmate A$AP Rocky and produced by Detail. DJ Mustard, Boi-1da and Stargate are also on the production roster.

Tinashe has been soundtracking the turnup while penetrating the airwaves with her catchy single “2 On” featuring Schoolboy Q. Now, the Los Angelino singer is pushing out her major label debut Aquarius (via RCA Records) this fall. She will also be releasing her upcoming single “Pretend” with contributions from A$AP Rocky.

This past weekend, Tinashe hit up TAO nightclub in Las Vegas to celebrate her fourth consecutive week at #1 on Rhythmic Radio with “2 On”, which currently holds the No. 25 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts.

“Aquarius is my official album introduction to the world and represents a new season of music and art,” Tinashe said in a press release. “I cannot wait to finally share with the world what I have been working so hard on for the past few years. This is just the beginning.”
